Act three Scene Five. Romeo and Juliet stand on the balcony, cherishing their final moments. “Almost Is Never Enough”, Ariana Grande ft. Nathan Sykes
In this scene, Romeo and Juliet are sharing their final moments together before Romeo is to be exiled to Mantua. It is too much to bear for both of them, since they were just married a day before. They realize that almost is never enough, which is much like the song that Ariana Grande sings, “Almost Is Never Enough”. This song is all about the relationship that the two lovers so wished for, but sadly they were too naive to understand that there can be times that even when you try your best, you may not succeed. Moments before Romeo departed for Mantua, he started to hold back, for he desired to stay with his lovely wife. “Let me be ta’en, let me be put to death… Let’s talk. It is not day.” (3.5.21) Romeo wishes that there would be a time when he could stay with his wife forever. Similarly when Nathan Sykes joins the songs, he exclaims, “If I could change the world overnight, there'd be no such thing as goodbye, you'd be standing right where you were, and we'd get the chance we deserve” In the end, this song would be the perfect choice for this scene, because it talks about the love between Romeo and Juliet, and how hard it is for them to stay together, considering the circumstances.

Lyrics
I'd like to say we gave it a try
I'd like to blame it all on life
Maybe we just weren't right, but that's a lie, that's a lie
And we can deny it as much as we want
But in time our feelings will show
'Cause sooner or later
We'll wonder why we gave up
The truth is everyone knows
Almost, almost is never enough
So close to being in love
If I would have known that you wanted me
The way I wanted you
Then maybe we wouldn't be two worlds apart
But right here in each other's arms
And we almost, we almost knew what love was
But almost is never enough
If I could change the world overnight
There'd be no such thing as goodbye
You'd be standing right where you were
And we'd get the chance we deserve
Try to deny it as much as you want
But in time our feelings will show
'Cause sooner or later
We'll wonder why we gave up
The truth is everyone knows
Almost, almost is never enough
We were so close to being in love
If I would have known that you wanted me, the way I wanted you
Then maybe we wouldn't be two worlds apart
But right here in each other's arms
And we almost, we almost knew what love was
But almost is never enough
Oh, oh baby, you know, you know, baby
Almost, baby, is never enough, baby
You know
And we can deny it as much as we want
But in time our feelings will show
'Cause sooner or later
We'll wonder why we gave up
The truth is everyone knows
Almost, almost is never enough (is never enough, babe)
We were so close to being in love (so close)
If I would have known that you wanted me the way I wanted you (babe)
Then maybe we wouldn't be two worlds apart
But right here in each other's arms
And we almost, we almost knew what love was (baby)
But almost is never enough
Oh, oh baby, you know, you know, baby
Almost is never enough baby
You know
